Who we are
Gurung Samaj Netherlands (GSN) is a vibrant and inclusive community organization dedicated to preserving, promoting , and celebrationg the rich cultural heritage of the Gurung (Tamu) people within the Netherlands.
Established to serve as a bridge between our ancestral roots in the Himalayas and our life in the Netherlands, our organization acts as a cornerstone for the Nepali diaspora. We provide a supportive environment where community members can connect, share experiences, and foster a sense of belonging far from home.
Our team is actively working on several projects, including the planning of this year’s Lhosar celebration, coordinating community camping trips, and expanding our membership platform to better connect all Gurung community members in the Netherlands.
Our Approach
Our Objectives
We actively promote the traditional customs, language, and arts of the Gurung community, ensuring our heritage is passed down to the next generation.
1. To maintain, preserve and promote Gurung culture, tradition as well as its language and literature.
2. To provide a platform for the GURUNG people living in the The Netherlands and to help them to integrate into Dutch society.
3. To support training and educational projects for Gurung communities in Nepal.
4. To contribution and assist in case of emergencies such as natural disaster.
Besides, Gurung Samaj Netherland works and contributes on welfare of Nepalese people in The Netherlands.It acts as an official source of information regarding TAMU people in The Netherlands.
